ESSI products are synthetic insoluble sorbents used to recover and retain a contaminant* through absorption. ESSI sorbents are useful in preventing, containing and filtering spills because they are both oleophilic (oil attracting) and hydrophobic (water repelling). Capable of absorbing up to 70 times their weight, ESSI sorbents may be used as the sole containment method for spills. ESSI processes the absorbed contaminants* and the contaminated sorbent for reuse or recycling.
ESSI sorbents have been in the development phase for nearly a decade and have been successfully implemented into the marketplace. A proprietary process is used to extract and create ESSI products from recycled materials. Through a specific series of procedures, ESSI converts these materials into three distinct components: Alpha, Bravo and Anchor.
